2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI New Jersey arrival date and price
Don’t get us wrong, we like the look of the 2015 VW Jetta GLS, but it’s not exactly to the Jetta what the GTI is to the Golf. True, it’s sporting the same 210 horsepower, 2.0L engine which can be found in the GTI, and it certainly is fully-loaded with features compared to the base model Jetta, but it’s lacking that something special when it comes to the looks department, and Volkswagen has recognized this. The company has just revealed images of the next model year, so there isn’t much information regarding the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI New Jersey arrival date and price, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth speculating over.
An upgraded look
It’s probably obvious by now that the main appeal of the newest model year is going to be the more aggressive look it has over the current one. The front fascia has received an upgrade, making it more muscular, especially with the honeycomb grille and contrasting details. The LED headlights also have a subtle reshaping which, when you combine it all together, give the next Jetta GLI a bolder look. When it comes to the style department, this vehicle could be a real contender against the GTI, since not everyone is in love with the hot hatch body style. The changes in the rear of the 2016 Jetta GLI are more subtle, but it’s the details that count. There’s no word yet on how the interior will look, but the sports seats in the current model year aren’t too shabby as-is.
Probably the biggest upgrade to the features in the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLS is going to be the new MIB 2 infotainment system, which has been optimized for better smartphone integration. The SE trim style already has keyless access with push-button start, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, a sunroof, the Fender premium audio system, rain-sensing windshield wipers and much more, so it’s not surprising that Volkswagen couldn’t find too many new things to add. Those worried about safety, however, might find comfort in learning both the SE and SEL will have the Volkswagen Automatic Post-Collision Braking system included, which applies the brakes after the airbags sense a collision in order to avoid further damage. The headlights in the SEL will also have Adaptive Front-lighting system, which allows them to swivel while taking corners.
The arrival date hasn’t been determined yet for the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, though it is expected later this year. Pricing also hasn’t been revealed, but it’s expected to stay close to the starting MSRP of the current model year, which is $26,920. When more information is revealed we’ll be updating here at our blog, so check back for more.
